McCoy Tabbed to USA National Team!

Tori McCoy officially was named to the 12 member u16 USA National team that is scheduled to compete in the FIBA Americas U16 Championships in Cancun Mexico at the end June.

After two and ½ days of competing in the night session on Saturday night hit her head on the floor and received a concussion.  She was unable to compete in the final day of tryouts on Sunday, but was still named to the 12 member team on Monday morning.

“Tori fought through a lot of adversity on this trip, and showed her passion for the game and love of competing at the highest level. She represented herself with great humility and her ‘game’ did all the talking during her time out here. This is a proud day for the Champaign-Urbana community to have one of our own to represent our country.”   Coach Mennig

Mike Flynn the owner of Blue Star Basketball said with a smile “enough ‘sandbagging’ with her Chris – she is the #1 player in the country for the 2016 class heading into the summer.”
